Surroundings and activities

As the name suggests, Mora d’Ebre is located at the longest river in Spain, the Ebro. It is the capital of the region Ribera d’Ebre and offers a wide range of modern facilities like a hospital, public transport, countless shops and an outdoor pool. The nearest airport is Reus Aeropuerto, which has a variety of (budget) airlines flying in and out of the airport. Reus Aeropuerto is a 45 minute drive from Mora d’Ebre. Aeroport Barcelona-El Prat is also within reach at a 90 minute drive from the town. The beautiful beaches of the Costa Dorada are only 30 minutes away by car.

The surroundings of Mora d’Ebre are perfect for a wide range of activities: cycling, hiking, motorcycling, canoeing, fishing, bird watching, wine tasting and cultural trips. All these activities can easily be started from Mora d’Ebre.

Aenotourism

In May 2025 we were able to organize a wonderful ‘wine tour’ for a wine society from Ede, in the Netherlands. We explored the Priorat region with the wine society. The wines from the Priorat are of high quality and fall under the DOQ predicate. Two full days were filled with tastings at 4 cellers and the history of the origins of the wine region was also discussed. In Spain we have contact with a Dutch oenologist. Like a walking encyclopedia he can answer questions in Dutch, English, Spanish and Catalan. The group stayed in our hostal and part of the group stayed at another address nearby. However, every day started with a joint breakfast at Cafe Noisette, an establishment close to Casa Michaels.

If you are interested in doing a wine tour with your wine society, group of friends or family, please feel free to contact us and we can see what we can do for you. In addition to the Priorat, the wine regions of Montsant and Terra Alta are also definitely worth getting to know.
